  • Standard / Tapered Tip (GMAW/MIG)?

What are the differences? As far as Contact tips, and 135amp Mig/GMAW

Just stick with a standard contact tip, I see that Lincoln offers a tapered tip and a standard tip.

Also on the gas diffusers, some sit flush, and some are recessed, all different sizes, one is sized 5/8" for aluminum.

Was about to order some new tips, wanted to make sure I'm making the correct choices.

Thanks in advance for any insight,

    Don

Tapered tips are used with tapered nozles to aid in getting in tight places. For short arc used a flush nozzle. With flux core you can use a slight tip stick out or just weld without a nozzle. Recessed position is for spray and you can't go there with your unit.
