I know how fast it is to change with that machine because I owned a powermig. That was the first thing I looked at when I first took a peek at the 350 p. I am not sold on the 251 arc for some reason.( kind of soft and different than I am use to.) The weld beads do look good though.
They do sell a few cp 302 at my Airgas. They sell well to trailer builders out here. They sold twelve of them this year, to one company alone. The main reason according to my friend at Airgas, is those machines are really perfected for .035 solid wire welding.

I will try to get a demo sometime in the future. Everyone they bring in at Airgas is already sold.

How does the 350 xmt compare to the 350 p ? Same?

    Best short-arc in welding machines?

Which welding machines have the they best short-arc? Inverters are really what I have in mind. I am really thinking the ones that you can weld with and not get a bobble out of the arc. The local welding instuctor at the community college thinks the Esab 350 mpi has the best short-arc. His welds are some of the best you will ever see in vertical up mig. He says he can get every machine he has ever used to cut out just a little bit when using his style of welding. They have all the usual Miller XMT stuff but not the new XMT 350 machine. I guess what I am asking has anyone welded with those two welders or even a Lincoln V350 pro. I could care less about peak single phase power because for what I do, it really is not a issue. I just want the best short-arc machine period!!!!!!! No 210,215,250,251,255,260,300 blue, red, yellow ,mauve machines need to apply for the shoot out!!! I would also like to know how he 350 p fits in to the mix of things too. I am going to try to get a demo of the 350p using steel but it is really hard to do when everyone is setup with the python. If you asked if you could try steel the Miller guys look at you like you have a screw loose. I think I will post this one the sister board and see what comes up too.

I Liked the Green one in the picture better then the red one, for how it welded when using it on mild steel.
