I have seen the Eagle and it appears to be a nice model, but I personally would rather have the Big window or the speedglas. I own a 9000x speedglas and have been using it for about 2-1/2 years, not somuch as a hint of a problem. I also own a millerXLix which is a nice model. I would want to see more of these ArcOne models on the market before I would cough up the cash.
The best models on the market are Speedglas9002x, Optrel satalite, Miller big window. I have used 2 of the three and have handled the third. I am impressed by the features and reliability, not to mention the reputation of these models. If you buy from the local guy he will be trying to get the hottest thing into the market, which isn't bad but for an individual with small budget you are buying for the long haul and buy the best product and backing for the dollar.
Any of the three I mentioned will serve you for years, compare you'll probably buy the Big window!

Found the helmet. It's by ArcOne. It' called Eagle. Definitely don't want it after the looking harder at other helmets. It's probably good, but I think there are better ones out there. I'm calling to tell him to cancel the order first thing in the morning. Looks like I'll be getting the Speedglas 9002X unless any of ya'll know of something better.
Here's a link to the Eagle

Yeah. I learned real quick to check ebay for excellent prices on welding supplies. I found the 9002X w/side glasses on there for $314. When I ordered my welder I printed off BR welding supplies price and my dealer beat it by $100. Very good bargaining tool.

Hood help???
My local welding supply guy recommended a hood for me and I can't remember the name of it. I have searched all over the web and nothing rings a bell. I had my heart set on a Big Window Elite but he talked me into this other thing. I read the brochure and it had 4 sensors, claimed 40% larger veiwing area than any other auto, and looked real nice. My salesman said that in the demo the guy put it underwater and turned it on and off. He also said it was a little cheaper. I usually research things better before I buy them and I always know the name and model. I guess I was so excited about ordering my welder that I just didn't take enough time. Anyway, can everybody name some different hoods to refresh my memory?
Also, after my searching, I think I've found the one I really want. It's a Hornell Speedglass 9002x with the side windows. It looks like the best out there from my research. What do ya'll think? Cost isn't much of a concern. I want the best. Thanks for the help.
Maybe the name was Tiger or something?Tags: None
