  • syncro250 Vs dyn200

i know that the dynasty 200DX is byfar better than the syncro180

but as i am saving for the dyn200 i happend to notice the $$$ of the syncro250 watter cooled setup is prity close to the $$ to setup a dyn200 with water

this should be a debate for the ages LOL
any ideals or + or - that come to mind on this set
    syncrowave 250 watter cooled
    or
    dynasty 200DX watter cooled

    decitions, decitions, decitions, decitions
    thanks for the help
    ......or..........
    hope i helped

summer is here, plant a tree. if you don't have space or time to plant one sponsor some one else to plant one for you. a tree is an investment in our planet, help it out.

The Dyn is really easy on the power input and runs on any phase or voltage. It is also portable and would be excelent for portable stick welding should the need arise. It would work well with cords if needed and these guys say it s excelent for tig. Very adjustable arc.

askandy said in another thread. that the 200dx was much better that a syncro on aluminum because of the way it can control the arc. but on steel, the 250syncro is better because it has more power.

i would like to put them side by side for a few days.

Unless you really need the extra 50 amps, the power cost saving from the inverter will save you far more cash in the long run.

ask j-shovel which machine he thinks is better, myself, I can't see spending the extra money for an unproven machine, but then what do I know. I am still using an old (red) sine-wave machine (that never fails me). I have tried the DX, too noisy for me.

You need to save up more and get a 300 Dynasty.
The new Syncro 250 tigrunner is really slick. They shrunk the whole thing and cleaned up all the fittings, dinse now. The 200 will out pulse a syncro and it come standard in the dx 200 along with upslope/downslope and other cool things. They all are extra with the Syncro. I looked pretty hard at one when I picked up my Themal prowave but just can't get over the fact of 60 hz welding on ac. I been down that road and there is no going back! I set my machine at 60hz when I first welded with to remind me why I like inverters.

              the syncro 250 is actualy a 5amp - 310amps
so it would be an extra 110amps.

still not shoure if i can get the power i would need for the syncro.

still planing on the dynasty 200DX after the show just was curieus what you all thought i'm prity well sold on the dynasty i passed on the syncro 180 and the TA185 due to there need for 50Amp breaker
              thanks for the help

                fun4now,

If aluminum and portability are your primary focus, then the Dynasty 200DX is the way to go. It will operate on 100-500 VAC on 1 and 3 phase input power. On 1 phase 230VAC the Dynasty 200DX draws less than 30 amps max.

If you need the higher duty cycle and 310 amp top end for steel and /or other DC processes, then the Syncrowave 250 is what you need. Bear in mind the Syncrowave 250 will need 100 amp or larger dedicated service with appropriate wiring to supply the necessary input power.

You can always get the D200DX with an air cooled torch and continue saving for the water cooler and water cooled torch.

                  yea

the dynasty realy is more of what i need/want. as for portabillity its realy not an isue with the TIG setup as i'll just be playing in my shed/shop

i dont realy think i will ever need 310Amps, and if i do it wont need to be prity so i may look into a buzz box once i hve more power to the shop (if ever)

i think as a hobiest that just wants to play the dynasty will be plenty of power. i dont see myself outgrowing it.

thats one part of why i chose it over the TA185/syncro180 as well as the power needs of the above. the TA185 can draw as much as 40Amps, the syncro 180 can draw up to 54Amps

long and short of it is i have decided on the dynasty200DX not only will it last me a liftime without outgrowing it but miller will be there to help me if ever a problem arizes. i have contacted miller on several acashions with realy nice, prompt responces.

most importantly the lil woman has ok'ed me to get it

after we get back from the dolly show (early to mid november) i can get the dynasty and will be asking you (HAWK) to help me put together the parts i'll need insted of the contractor's kit.
as for the whater cooler i will be waiting to get that as i'm not real shoure i'll need it. i have a few projects in mind to use it on that should tell me if i need the cooler or not, but i figure that i dont have a deadline on anything anymore so i'll just take my time and let the torch cool if needed.
if cooling time becomes an ishue then i'll look into a cooler. for now i think a good air coold setup will do me fine

there is no argument that the dynasty is a state of the art fabulus welder
                  thanks for the help

the 300DX would be sweet for shoure but as the lil woman would say

"thats a lot of doll $$$ youre spending "

LOL i dont need that kind of hassel when i already have to take her to canada to a 3 day dollie convention to get the 200, cant imagin what i would have to do to get the 300
