  • Tig with bobcat?

I am currently awaiting the arival of a hf251 for my older bobcat. does anyone have experiance with the bobcat and its tig characteristics. And yes I am still saving up for a dynasty 200 and Ive decided to go with the dx for all my criticle tig. But am interested in how the bobcat works in tig mode, primarily a/c aluminum.

It will work...but that's about it. The HF 251 is normally used in a remote condition with a foot pedal or hand control. Since the Bobcat has no provision for remote control, The HF251 will have to be run hot all the time. This makes for a dangerous stuation at the HF is going all the time and the Bobcat's output is hot all the time so it will want to jump to anything to ground itself and if you lay the torch across your leg like all of us when not welding, it will light you up

        Good choice!

It's a far better Tig welder than the Bobcat.

          trailblaizer 301G GREATE

I have an Miller Trailblaizer 301G it's a extremly versitale machine but I have'nt welded critical Tig welds yet. I think some litature recomends using a high frequincy unit with this machine even though it does have remote capibilities.
