although some of you may not know who indian larry was. If you enjoy looking at choppers and think you want to build one larry was a man who had done it for the past few decades. Larry has left us recently and deserves a prayer from everyone whos life he may have touched. Please say a prayer tonight for Larry for He was a memorable man and Im sure he found his way to heven standing on the back of a *****in winged heven chopper.

Yes... I know. It happened in my back yard a few miles up the road at a show. Terrible loss to the creative bike world. We recently had a MILLER contract with him and was looking forward to working with him on the biker build offs.

It is a terrible loss to us all as he was an inspiration to all welders and fabricators. My prayers are with him and I will continue to admire his work.

Saw him first on the Biker Build-off against Billy Lane and was blown away by his craftsmanship, between the twisted downtube they bent by hand, the engine with two different style heads, and the overall quality of the bike. He was also just at a local biker night here early this summer and I saw him spend a lot of time talking to all comers and posing for countless pictures with admirers. Wish I would of gone up to shake his hand and tell him how much I admired his craftsmanship. The custom bike biz has lost a great talent.

'Indian Larry' Said Killed at Bike Show

CONCORD, N.C. (Aug. 30) - A custom motorcycle builder known for his appearances on cable's Discovery Channel died Monday at a hospital of head injuries suffered during a stunt, officials said.

"Indian Larry" fell off a motorcycle Saturday while performing before 8,000 people at an arena outside Charlotte. He was not wearing a helmet, the officials said.

Indian Larry was standing on the moving bike when it began to wobble and went out of control, said Mike Downs, Cabarrus County deputy manager. His full name was not immediately known.

"Indian Larry was a man with great skill and talent as a mechanic and metal sculptor," said Robert Freeman, chairman of the county board of commissioners. "He will be truly missed by his fans here in Cabarrus County and throughout the nation."

Indian Larry, who appeared in movies and television shows, was featured on a Discovery Channel series in which motorcycle builders design and build bikes from scratch, then have them judged by motorcycle aficionados.

He will be missed by the bike building community. I had the opportunity to hang with him this past January at a bike show and we were in the same hotel that night along with Billy, Roger Bourget, and Perwitz. Indian Larry was a great guy to chat with and he was always down to earth. Its a tragedy that we lost him. Sounds like he commited suicide to me! They showed him standing up on motorcycles going down the road on Discovery. Anyone who rides knows how stupid this is, things can go very wrong very quickly on two wheels and that's just sitting on the seat.

I'm sure he was accustomed to doing this to show how straight and true his bikes rode, he built his bikes to ride hard, and to have better handling than some that are built out there, maybe not such long forks but definatly sporty machines.

I'm sure there was something on the pavement that through the bike out of balance, and that's all it takes.

An accident can happen at any time, even crossing the streat. I think Larry would be proud of his life accomplishments, and he lived a pretty full life to say the least.

He's in a better place now, it's our loss for sure though.

I like that in the biker build off how he said he was not the winner, both Billy and he should have the award together, and the tv network was the loser, haha.
