i see you added a harly to your list of toy's
thats what i'm geting the dynasty for (among other things) i intend to build it from ground up
hopeing to start it this winter and maybe make sturges next summer
right now i'm working on a yard truck to keep me buisy and help with taking out the trash
well i was going to post you a link to the hobart board where i have an ongoing step by step of the build but cant seem to get on that board at all keeps comming up as a miller changed the site thing
oh well if it comes up later ill try to get it back to you
i dont see how anyone could regret getting 1
my only regret is i didnt get it sooner
keep in mind that i am not a pro just a hobbiest and the $225.00 i spent on it was real hard to justify. that kind of $$$ can get me a lot of other stuff for my shop, and now that i have it i only wish i had talked myself into getting it sooner
to date my shop has not made me $.01 but has given me $99999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999.9 9 werth of fun
James,
I live in Easton PA (right on border of PA & Jersey) and work in Manhattan. My shop too - has not earned me a penny yet
We should get together and start our own business - fabriacting things - anything - just so we can do what we love to do - WELD BABY!!!!!
I'll probably have mine for sale after the 20th. Decided that after Andy shows me the stuff, I'm going to try and go back to what I do well, photography.
I just gotta post my $0.02. I've had my BW Elite for about a month now and like a lot of you, I've occasionally forgotten to press the ON button before strikin' my first arc. It ain't comfortable, but better than bare eye. As for when its ON, its so d*mn fast you couldn't even blink that fast. As I said in an earlier post, this thing is pure ***. Bulldog sent me a 2X magnifier and WOW what a difference that made. I can't imagine welding without my BWE and magnifier anymore for any reason. Only problem is, my son wants to use it all the time.
The book says it is a coin type CR2450 Lithium battery or equivalent. ( Miller p/n 217043 if anyone cares ) It sounds like they used a readily available battery. At a life of a few thousand hours with MIG, I don't think you'll be replacing them often.
i almost got 1 of thouse till i got on here and read a cuple of posts about how they realy work and what happends if you drop it
speeking of droping it yep i already did that
put it on a hook 7 1/2 ft. up thinking it would be safer up out of the way turnd around to walk away and booom merfies law i gess but on the brighter side it still works great and only a few litle scratches on that cool stars and stripes paint job
as for the extra $20.00 for the paint insted of black go for it it realy look good might as well splerge its your X-mass present right
looks like you got what you paid for. and we elite owners got what we paid for.
IMHO they are worth the money.
Yes, thanks, and I agree. I was un-educated when I bought the helmet, based on the specs listed for the helmet, it looked more than safe. I think in this case the helmet does not perform as advertised.
I'm glad to be able to verify what a known good helmet brand is, great to be on this board, thanks much for the insight.
I checked on the prices, I haven't decided if it's worth the extra $60.00 for the larger sized window or not.
Then I can get one just black instead of painted, but it's only about $20.00 difference between them.
I'm thinking this will be an early Christmas present, lol. Unless someone has a small window they don't need, and are upgrading to a Big window.
man that shoure made me seem ****
for someone thats retired you would think i would'nt be in such a hurry
oh well if you got my $$$$ i want my stuff
gess thats just me LOL
