  • Lincoln TIG 275 voltmeter question

Been using a fairly new Lincoln Precision TIG 275. One of the features is a voltmeter activated by a momentary switch. Not sure if the Miller machines have the same thing. What exactly is the purpose of this? I obviously can't reach over and hit the sw to get a voltage reading while welding. Is this a bell/whistle that serves no useful purpose?

My Thermal-arc has the same thing. I know at the local miltary contrator the inspectors will check the voltage while welding to make sure the weldor is keeping the correct arc length.

Our unit comes standard with the volt meter and ampmeter too but like you said, most will not use the voltmeter.
