  • The Miller welding trailer

The local welding shop in my town had an open house last week. The Miller
welding trailer,(I don't know the official name) was there, and anyone could
try out any number of new machines. The guys working the trailer were
very helpful and very knowledgeable on the Miller product line. (new and
old) If anyone gets the chance and they come into your town, check
them out. Thank-you Miller and the guys who work the trailer, nice job.

One of the Miller trailers will be at the Penn State Ag Progress days on the 17th, 18th and 19th of this month, next Tuesday Wednesday and Thursday. Lot's of hands on stuff to play with and some really good Miller people there to answer questions and show you how to use their equipment to it's best advantage.........Ag Progress Days ...Info and directions on the link.

I sometimes go to this one,, went a couple of years ago and not 1 welding vendor there. People come from all over the country, seems like a good oportunity missed. http://www.glexpo.com/ Grand Rapids Michigan I just look at the exhibitors, no welding.

You are correct Sberry, until 4 years ago, welding was not on display at this show. Back in the 80's, the company I worked for had a small display there every year, until we sold our State College store. The company that bought the store didn't see fit to attend. Four years ago, even though my company does not have a store in State College, we started partnering with Miller to put a hands on display there, and it has been a great success. It is always one of the busiest booths at the show. Farmers sure do a lot of welding...as you well know. This is a big show, by Northeast US standards anyway, with about 60,000 people attending during the 3 days.

If you could find out who your Miller District Manager is, he could tell you. Also if you have a good relationship with your distributor, and he has a good relationship with his Miller DM, he should be able to find out when it is around, even if it is at his competitors.

Miller also has a smaller Truck than the Roadshow. It used to be known as the commercial products truck. It is straight truck set up just like the Roadshow with it's own generator and painted up really sweet. We had it at Ag-Progress a couple years ago and I have had it for a couple open houses too. But sadly, from what I am told, it is limited to traveling within 500 miles of Appleton since it is getting a little battleworn. Fun4Now is right though, your local distributor can get the trailer in their area, at least in regions where one is available, for open houses and trade shows if they talk to their Miller DM's. I think they are great PR tools and definitely a good way to get to play with all the latest toys...
