Do you have any preferences as to where you purchase hand grinders, clamps, air compressors, and other general shop tools. Is Craftsman the way to go given their warranty?

On electric power tools craftsman's warrantee isn't any better than anyone elses. Be sure to buy a Commercial or Industrial grade tool if you plan on using it much. Some cheapo type tools can burn up in less than a week of good hard use. On Hand Tools Wrenches Pliers etc.. craftsman does have a good warrantee if you want to go complain about it when its broken.I don't like to stand in line and hope they have another of whatever it is I just broke. I prefer to spend a little more on tools the average joe cannot normally break. "Snap on, Proto, Mac etc.. On air tools it's usually a limited 90 day type warrantee you need to ask the salesman to show you in writing. Especially when at my sears the salesmen" 20 yr olds" Usually know less about their stuff than I do.

I'll buy a Sears hand tool if it's the only solution. I prefer tools from the same guys that GlenB mentioned. I spent 32 years in electrical construction, and I learned the hard way that you get exactly what you pay for in tools. Stick with recognized brand names, and you'll do OK for compressors, power tools, etc. There are exceptions of course, but when you buy from outfits that don't manufacture, like Sears, you're getting whatever the lowest bidder happenes to make. I do have one pretty good Sears table saw, and an antique, bulletproof, 295 amp Sears buzz-box.
Brands I use: Jet, Porter-Cable, Milwaukee, Makita, Campbell-Hausfeld, Ingersol-Rand, Delta, and one VERY old Belsaw 910 surface planer.
Be well.

Glen,
Off the subject, but years ago I worked down in the Antelope Valley, and on the road to Two Rock (can't remember the highway number) there was a place called the "Hungarian Sausage and Meat Factory". I recall that they made some KILLER sausage. Ever heard of it??
Be well.

Glen,
Exactly!! Littlerock!! Two Rock's a place up here near the coast. Called my bud in Agua Dulce - he says it's still out there. Check it out - you won't be disappointed.
Be well.
