im am having problems locating a new, or rebuilt leed and gun for my miller matic 35! the people @ the local supply house said it was not available, and must upgrade to a newer machine!!!

there is nothing wrong with the machine that i have. i just need to repair the leed and gun!

can you help me find a solution to my problem?

You may get an answer here from one of the Miller guys but I would also post this at Hobart's Weld Talk site. It is faster paced and the factory guys are always watching it during the week.

unclejake , The supply house you are dealing with is not trying to do you any favors. The Millermatic 35 was, and still is if in good shape, a fine machine. There are lot's of them still out there in service.

Although the original gun, either of 2 styles is no longer available, the Miller Parts guide lists the M-15 gun as a replacement gun for your MM35. The stock # is 169589 for the 10 ft. model, 169591 for a 12 footer and 169593 for the 15 ft. version. List price for any length is $276.00, but a good dealer will sell you one for around $200.00, a heck of a lot cheaper than a new machine.

Depending on the age of your MM35, parts may still be available to repair your gun also. The later models, after serial # JA448186 had a GA20-C gun on them and parts are available. Those parts are listed in the Miller parts guide, which any decent dealer should have readily available.

If you have any problems, check back and I am sure we can help you out.

              James:
Most employers are against this problem good help is hard to find. When I sold car parts I never quit until I had the whole answer and who had what the customer needed if I didn't,which is difficult to justify to the boss, spending time to send the customer some place else. That is customer service at its best, almost no one will do this and its a shame, because that is how it used to be.

              Peace,

this is true i hapin to live in a lil town and you get great or terible service seldome in the midle. my dealer is well into the great side of the equation (thats why i have a parts book) thought i would help make unclejaks miller service a little beter. my dealer told me when i get my tig he will work with me after hours till i get it right i dont think you could ask for more than that.
kinda makes ya feel spoilt lol
                thanks for the help

                  GUN FOR OLD MM-35

If the MM-35 you have is one of the real old ones (1972) with no gas solinoid valve you can install a Tweco part # 2500-2355 MK35M35 kit with a 1000-1132 mini mig gun 3512 this may cost you around $400.00 but well worth it! I've been working on and selling welders for over 18 years and have converted may old MM-35 over this way.

I know there are some inside guys that just should not be behind the counter, that's one of the reason's my bosses got on my case, because i was so busy helping the counter guys finding parts and answering customers questions i didn't have much to go out and see customers like yourselves. One thing is it's either one way or the exact opposiste. The best thing to rely on is the parts book, i'm glad to hear your distributor is on top of things.

Hello, I am new to mig welding, I have done much arc. Local there is a millermatic 35. (old one white front). As is. guy dosent have 220 power.
He stated that there was a new gun/lead installed at the dealer for 400. and not used since
The gun looks new. im going to attempt to weld some exhaust pipes.
I used a craftsman 80 amp was crap, splatter and weld didnt hold.
