Just thinking......I have a Dynasty 200 DX and a Regency 200/w a 30a spool gun and wc24. If I got a 251 or 350p and sold the Regency power source, keeping the 30a for aluminum, wouldn`t I have most of my bases covered as far as in-shop welding goes?
    Questions..

Would my spool gun be plug and play with the new machine?

Would the Regency have any value without the spool gun?

    Just some head scratching

Sounds like a good plan Wheels, The 350P would be a step up, for sure, from the Regency. But selling the power supply alone may be a difficult task, depends on how good of a salesman you are, I guess...

As far as the 30-A gun, it should plug right into that 350P with no problems.

      K is right,

The spool gun circuit has not changed and will plug into the new unit fine. The 350P is the pulse unit and also comes in a plain 350 if you don't need pulse.

I would say the regency has good value. I just got one last year for a Swingarc boom feeder I had. There are people out there who need just the power source. May take some networking with some distributors in the area or you could trade it in. Some dealers happily take trades. The 350 is an awesome welder. Way more than you will ever need but that's the point right!!

        Thanks guys

Now all I have to do is convince the "better half" I need to replace a welder which is still working as well as it did when I opened the box!!!!

It may take more advice in that respect than how to set up the machine

          Wheels:
I hope your not the jealous type:} my wife ordered and wrote the check for my mm210, AND she hooked the guys at AIRGAS for a freee cover and when I got it home there was a free XLix welding hood in the box. I got a great lady at home and she takes good care of me.

          Peace,

            Wheels,

I have never been one to run with the crowd. I have my own thoughts, much based on experience, about welding equipment.
Yes the Regency is a great power source and will bring good money . Like A- said it will take the right person at the right time, but can be done.

The D200DX is a great start. I would add an ALT 304 or XMT 350 with the Optima pulser, 70 series wire feeder, an extra TIG torch set up, and enough cable to suit your stick welding needs. That's more money than the MM350P. It is also much more versatile! You could trim it down by going with a 22A feeder and getting the Optima pulser later on down the road. My 2 cents.
