I own a Maxstar 200 and have found it to be a very good machine for both SMAW and GTAW. Good properties even on 110V using 3/32 SMAW.

MRO: Maintenance, Repair, and Operations. The term describes work such as in plant maintenance and repair work. There are MRO contractors that bid such work for large companies. I was an MRO sub contracor for a mechanical and underground utility contractor. I also considered myself to be in the MRO business when I owned my mobile welding business until just a few months ago.

It burns a great 6010 rod. Play with the dig control. It is a great asset for stick welding with this machine (MAXSTAR 200DX).

    Yes-

The Maxstar was designed with portability in mind as well as stick welding. We really wanted to attack MRO business with it and they do a lot of stick repair.

The Dynasty will make a great stick machine, in addition to it's tig capabilities.

Whoops, I saw 200DX and thought Dynasty, should have read more carefully. Anyway, the same goes for the Maxstar.

Hi, I have a 200DX setup for Tig and I was wondering if this machine makes a good or a very good SMAW welder? I like stick welding too.
