  • Plasma cutters

Hi. New here. I am in the process of ordering a plasma cutter and I'm trying to decide between the Miller spectrum 375 cutmate and the Thermal Dynamics Cutmaster 38 Plasma Cutter. I currently own a miller 210 and am unsure if I should stick with the another miller unit or go for the cutmaster. Herd a lot of good things on the thermal. Just looking for opinions.
    thanks--

Welcome I've had the Spectrum 625 since the first of the year and I love it! I considered other cheaper brands, but they really aren't that much cheaper if you consider the Miller warranty and Millers reputation for quality.

Miller's customer service alone would be enough for me to stay BLUE. It is second to none. They go the extra mile to give you the support you need to keep working. I have been all BLUE since '86 (I think) and haven't regretted it once. I did regret another company that wasn't Blue. They had absolutely no concept of customer service. I strayed once, never again. Besides, would you really want some other machine that wouldn't be color coordinated with the MM 210???

          Chris:
I have a Thermal Dynamics "Drag Gun 38. Don't know if this the same unit. GO WITH THE MILLER, I have been very displeased with the Thermal unit. I intend to go with the MM 2050 cutter asap and funds permit. Never have been disappointed with my other
          Miller Units (MM Vintage/MM 135/MM172/Synchro 250.

ogier and i bolth have some posts on this but it is several pages back (lots going on in here)here is the link to that page

            LOL now thats a mouthfull

when you get the miller (i did) seems you can get a boost out of the spec 375 by putting on a bigger power (in) cord.
            happy cutting

I currently use a Spectrum 375 at work and at home. With a wheel kit on the torch and a straight edge it will do some very high quality cuts.

In a pinch I've cut 3/4 plate with it. Ya gotta go slow but it works.

I have'nt used outher brands but I'm very happy with my 375.

                Happy cutting!!

                  Welcome Chris!

Wise choice! All our plasma cutters are made here in the USA so even if you have an issue, we normally get parts out in 2 days. Thermo can't say that!

                  Have fun!

                  Andy
