Will MIG Flux Core wire become as easily contaminated, mainly rust, as easily as steel.

Flux cored wire is much more susceptable to humidity changes than solid wire. The flux in the wire can pick up moisture, just like the flux coating on stick electrodes.
Many coded welding operations use wire ovens to store flux cored wires in when they are not in use.
If the wire is exposed to enough moisture to cause it to rust, you can be assured that the flux properties have also been affected.
