  • Regency 250

I have receintly come across a Miller Regency 250 equipped with a WC24 and a 30A spool gun. The setup was purchased new in Sep 2000. How good of a unit is the Regency. As I understand it, the 250 is a power source only (Spool Gun, Wire Feed ect), that you can't stick weld with it. I have a S-22P12 Suitcase wirefeed. Will it work with the Regency 250?
    Thanks for your info.

    MADJACK,

    Welcome!

The Regency is a nice unit. If the price is right, go for it! I use a regency on a swingarc boom feeder over my chassis build plate. Works great. Your S22P12 will run great off the Regency. Just plug the 14 pin control cord inplace of the WC24 and weld away!

    Have fun!

      Regency 250

Is it true that you can't use the Regency 250 for stick welding?
      Thanks, MadJack

That's correct. The Regency is a CV (constant voltage)unit and stick welding is a CC (constant current) process. Sorry but no stick.
