Thanks for sharing. We have only had a few forum offenders if memory serves me correctly. Most have cleaned up and continued with us, a few have dropped off, and I think one was actually banned.

I enjoy reading and posting to this board as much as anybody. Through time I have made many aquaintances and a few good friends at Miller Electric. I firmly believe Miller is on the leading edge of technology in machine design, testing, and production. They only make welding machines. All the R/D, engineering and production can be devoted to one thing. Miller, unlike its competitors, does not have to worry about keeping up in the market place with consumables and other goodies to make its bread and butter. There is one advantage of being an ITW company. The sister companies are handling other specific applications as well.

This forum is a great asset to the welding industry. I really appreciate Miller sharing such a fine resource! I hope all here will continue to share their vast knowledge and experience. I for one have learned from young and old, longtime professionals as well as those relatively new in the field of welding.

The language and connotations are not what we would like to see on this forum. We, as regular users, think of this forum as an asset to all who participate and really appreciate Miller shring the forum with us. Abuse in the past is just that: History.

It is sad to think that some one would abuse something such as a welding forum. I could not even begin to list the wealth of information and knowledge that I have gained through reading the posts at this forum. I could not imagine how narrow of a view I would have towards welding if were not for this forum. I would like to thank Miller for making this site possible and also thank all the contributers of this forum for all the help they have given me.

I appreciate the warm welcome, and I agree with you on the fact that I am VERY lucky to have such an early start in welding. What made me feel young though was the forums I come from (biketrials forums) are usually laid back, and anything goes, including language. I understand that this is a forum designed for help with welding, and it should not be any different. I cannot see how some poor spelling/grammar is 'abusing' the forum however. Again, I'm new here so I don't know how everything works just yet. I hope that I'm not abusing the forum at all, and if I am, please, tell me. I'm probably the most blunt person in the world. If I have a problem with something, I'll let the offender know, thats for sure. I expect the same to happen to me. I'm not a delicate soul, my feelings don't "get hurt". I can take things bluntly.

Thank you Miller Electric for having such a wonderful forum that has helped me greatly. I hope to be up there in the ranks with HAWK and co. when I'm older. Who knows where welding will take me?

This is the reason I buy and only use miller electric products - quality.

I don't think it's a matter of spelling. I know I'm not the best speller
I believe the language, connotations or expletives used in various posts are what may be derived as offensive to some. What we choose to write should error on the side of caution rather than "maybe or maybe not" offend any of our guests. This easily does not take anything away from the meaning of our questions and answers or if exclamation needs to be included in a post, let's find a more creative way to deliver it. I prefer the [email protected]#^%*$# method.
But seriously, Do I think it's a problem here? No...not yet. I think most people who visit our site and see the level of communication that exists here, follow the format that was created by our core members. This doesn't mean we shouldn't slap a few hands here and there just to keep everyone honest

I have always appreciated the decorum of this board. It seems as though some of the others have degraded to a lower than necessary level of speech. It is unnecessary and detracts from what the forum is about ... learning. All involved here are to be commended for their efforts to keep it clean and help others to do the same. This resource is an invaluable tool. It would be a real shame if it were "wasted" by allowing the drivel from other forums to infect this site. Miller has done an excellent job with this forum and should be commended. It is by far the most civil and dignified to date. I will do my part to keep it that way.

I just want to add my Here Here to the Miller for being great enough to have a tool like this on their website. I'm sure it provides a good source of trends and market feedback for them, but for us the users, I have seen websites that ask you to pay for access to information that isn't even half as good as this!!

It has been an absolute breath of fresh air to find a forum like this where people can share information and ask questions and be respected! Once again, thanks guys for having this forum here so I can learn how much I DON'T know about welding he he (and I honestly thought I knew a bit too!)
