Ext. cord size

Hi guys, What size wire do I need for a 20' ext. cord for my MM185?. The local Lowes has some 10-3 is this heavy enough? Also I was checking out my wire supply inside my welder and found all the thistle seed my dads been feeding the birds this winter, seems like the mice needed a good home. Thats funny they picked blue over my old green Westinghouse mig it was clean inside..Bob

Bob,

10-3 is plenty big enough for a short cord. Look at 8-3 if you want to get longer - I'd say over 50 feet.

I wouldn't run a Vintage on 12-3. More like 8-3 maybe.

8-3 would be my recommendation for the Vintage. 10-3 for the 185 as long as it is 25 ft. max.
