    Shaky_jake,

Lookin pretty good but a little filler at the ends wouldn't hurt. Be careful with aluminum not using filler it could crack if there's not enough material in the weld. I know from experience!

    More 'luminum progress

Hey folks - been a little scarce on the board, but I've been able to get some more practice with my Dynasty 200 DX. I've mounted C5 corvette mirrors on my '68 Chevy pickup and had to make my own bases out of aluminum. On the driver's side, before I had the welder, I pop-riveted a piece into place to mount the 'shroud' I wrapped around the mounts. This weekend, I was finishing the passenger's side mount and decided to weld the aluminum rather than pop-riveting it. I'm pretty happy with the results, and considering re-doing the driver's side to match. Here's a quick snap of one of the welds - no filler, all parent metal.
