I run 20-28cfh, I give a range if your shop has moving air or a draft it might take the higher end of the scale. I have run as high as 35cfh but I believe it just wastes gas and doesn't do any extra for the weld. Also if you look up a machine on the products button, upper left it will give you a typical setup for that machine, this covers the norm and adjust as necessary from there.
If you are seeing porosity in you welds, then turn down the gas flow. I rarely push more than 15-22 CFH. I use the lower setting on fillets. The reason why is too much gas flow can actually create a turbulence that will draw in the atmosphere and contaminate the weld. This can happen with MIG and TIG torch set ups.
