  • SR-150-32 TIG Welder

    Hello everyone,

Just a quick question. Does anyone know anything about the Miller SR-150-32? What I'm looking for is the primary input specs. I need to know whether it's a single phase or a 3 phase machine. I checked the Miller site for the owner's manual and it's not available online. I'm considering a used machine and the owner doesn't know anything about it and doesn't have the manual.

    Thanks

    Blondie,

If it's an old AC/DC tig welder then it has to be single phase. The only AC/DC three phase units we made were for sub-arc.

      Thanks Andy,

I saw a similar model on ebay and it's advertised as a DC only TIG welder, but they didn't have the primary input specs there either. On the front of the machine on ebay it says "CONSTANT CURRENT DC ARC WELDING POWER SOURCE" I haven't seen this one yet and it's a few hundred miles away, I'd hate to commit to buying it and send the money and find out when I pick it up that it's a 3 phase machine that I can't use.

      Thanks

Ask the seller to look at the power cord where it hooks to the machine. A single should only have 2 connections and ground (neutral). Three should have 3 connections and ground (neutral). Also sometimes the power/phase will be marked in this area. If the machine is multiple voltage there will be buss bars (usually copper/brass plates) that can be changed, this might have markings too.
I love a good deal on used equipment, I hope this helps.

          timw,

That's the question I asked him but there's no power cord on the machine anymore.

              Hello Blondie,
I don't know if you are still interested but that Milller SR-150-32 is a 3 phase only machine that is DC and CC only. That means you can only tig or stick weld on mild and stainless steel only. Hopea this helps!
