  • wire feed speed tracking

    Hi all !

I just started using my new MM135 and was wondering what problems or advantages the wire feed speed tracking system gives you. So far I have only put flux core wire through it and it welds nicely.

Was a bit surprised that the owners manual does not even mention this feature. Also I have read on other groups that some have had trouble with this "wire tracking". So any 'heads up' on this would be appreciated.

    Mark,
    Welcome to the site!
Wire speed tracking usually makes things easier. When you get the unit welding where you like it and want to move to a different thickness, just change the voltage. The wire will increase or decrease with the voltage adjustment. You may only have to change the wire setting just a little to fine tune.
Most people think this is an advantage and I have not heard any problems from it. Would like to hear from anyone who has though.

    Thanks for the question.

Thanks for the response Andy. That's pretty much what I figured. I guess I will play around a little more with it and see how it goes. Maybe someone else out there can give some feed back on this function.

From reading your posts I can see you are a real asset in this group and look forward to reading and learning more.

      Thanks again!
