Liners for Migs?? Hawk help again

Assuming there is no wire in a mig welder, how do you know what size liner is in it. I have a MM172 with the liner it came with but it has been on shelf for sometimes and don't know which one it has. Can you mike the outside diameter or what?

Most likely that unit has the .030-.035 liner but you never know who may have changed it in the past. Generally, if it has an .023-.025 liner, you won't be able to put .035 wire through it. The .030-.035 was standard in that unit.

If the gun you have is a M-10 or M-15 the liner size is printed on it along with the part number. The printing can be found on the back end of the liner.
