The best way to figure it out is to feed with both hands at the same time. The first one done 10 lengths wins. I use both hands all the time. I use my elbow for foot control when I am in a ladder. I also have almost 15 yrs experience. I still don't know how to walk the cup well because I don't do standard pipe.

I am primarily right handed but I use both daily.

    Practice, practice, practice...

I switch the foot pedal back and forth all the time. Sometimes it is a knee. But I am too much of a novice to switch hands. I should practice that some more!

Ahh, but do you switch feet on the pedal when you change hands???

I'm right handed but felt a natural tendency to use the torch with the left hand because of 25yrs of guitar playing. The muscle memory in my left arm works leagues faster, including finger dexterity. Using my right works but it feels weird, my left arm not at all when I started. Every now and then I switch it up---use the torch in right hand, filler in left, and left foot for pedal.

    Simple, both.

I swap hands back and forth all the time. You really need to be good at both sides. Practice is pretty much the only time I have straight, flat welds to make. So unless you happen to work in that perfect, air conditioned shop where all your welds are flat and straight and clean and have unicorns grazing out back, then practice with both.

I'm not a good tig welder don't do much of it where I work I know good tig welders and they can weld left handed or right handed. Try both do what works better when you get better switch it up only way to be a good welder is to weld.
