    Tim,

    If the issue is just on the starts you could try adjusting the run-in. If it starts doing this during the weld then it would either typically be a wire feeding issue or a poor connection in the gun or the on work cable/clamp.

    If everything external checks out good then I would suspect a possible issue with the main rectifier. This could be checked at a service center on a load bank.

      I haven't had many problems of this nature with a mm251, or 252, I rather like them. However the factory ground clamps are,,,,well, crap. Even the cheapest sprung brass clamp may just solve your problems
