as i know, many of the submerged arc welding flux could be used on DC and AC. that's means submerged arc welding process could adapt to both AC/DC. but there would be some difference on the parameter settings. Did you set suitable parameters for AC?

You do know that the logic and voltage boards have dip switches that have to be set for ac, usually I work on the ad/dc setups, few just run ac only

    AC Submerged Arc Process

We've invested in an AC sub arc machine and having trouble using it? We've used DC for years without trouble. Is there some tips someone can share? We run a Lincoln N5A feeder / 1000 amp. AC/DC power source and single wire typically 5/32" size. We are mfg. pressure vessels.
