  • Miller sycrowave 180 sd help 1 code

Hello, I am getting a help 1 code when I stick a rod on my syncrowave 180 SD. Does not happen if I'm on right mode.

Are you saying that you get a help code when the machine is set wrong but not if it is set correct?

No I'm saying that my machine works correctly when I'm tigging on tig mode but shows a help 1 code when a rod sticks in stick mode. Sorry phone autocorrected tig originally to "right".

        http://www.millerwelds.com/om/o360j_mil.pdf#page3 section 5 states-

SCR over current/under current. Turn off machine to reset. If condition persists take to repair facility.

Well yeah, it'll go to a over current cause it's a dead short, then it'll shut the arc off to protect itself, and through a code. Nothing to worry about. Maybe just turn the amperage up so the rod won't stick.

Check your "dig" control to make sure it's not set too low.

The higher the stick mode dig setting the less likely it is you'll stick the rod - IF your amperage setting is high enough for the rod used so double check that too.
