miller alt304 arc control problem

I have a miller alt304 and am not getting any response out of the arc control. Trying to weld mig with my Xtreme vs suitcase welder. I-10 produce the exact same looking weld with the same looking results.
Have tried many various setting and have come to the conclusion it has to be the arc control. If this is the problem what do I need to fix it and what might it cost?

Isn't the arc control functional on stick mode only?

No, it acts as inductance with gmaw, allowing you to have a stiff faster solidifying puddle to a wetter puddle.

Really, the only time your going to notice a difference turning the inductance/arc control is on small stuff, like sheet metal and such. Not going to notice it any time else.
