  • 130XP Problem

Just aquired a 130xp. The contactor is arcing big time when the handle is squeezed. The fan runs and all is fine until lI squeeze the trigger. Acts like a dead short. I ohmed wires 25 and 26 to the main transformer and get 2 ohms. Is the main transformer shorted? Thanks

The windings on the transformer will have a very low resistance so the 2 ohms really isn't an issue. Do you see any visible signs of failure on the transformer? If not I would suspect it is more likely the rectifier or something else.

Please feel free to give us a call and we can run through a few things over the phone.

Kevin, placed a call yesterday and talked to one of your techs. After disconnecting all the leads going to the rectifier, it is still blowing the breaker. We have pretty well came to the conclusion the output side of T1 is shorted. It makes no difference what number you put the voltage selector on it pops the breaker. Of course the transformer is discontinued. Will have to see if a used one is out there since they hardly ever go bad, except for me!
