  • Miller big 30A diesel welder/generator won't strike arc

Hey yall Im new to this and any help is really appreciated! I've never done this and not sure what to put so I'm a list everything I know it's a older Miller big 30A diesel arc welder/generator!, it's been my work welder for some years now and never has it failed me till about a month I took it out to work on some gates and when I went to strike I have nothing, no little sparks, just a dead tap and scratch! I have checked all my clamps, electrode holder, my leads and cleaned and brushed all my ground wires in the machine, I found the manual online buy it gave me only 5 options on no weld output and I ruled out 3 because my machine doesn't have the optional A/V connector output and still nothing!! It's had it's maintenance done so it's still okay! The generator works just fine! But no strike! I'm planning to take it to the shop but I figured to give it a try and see if I can learn a few things and possibly be helped online and save some dollars! I'm no stranger to diesel mechanics so any ideas, tips, hints, tricks haha I would appreciate! Thank you
