  • Miller 350 P- Aluminum First job in Pulse Mode

Wow, The 350 P Aluminum is a Dynasty version of a Mig, Lots of adjustments available, The cheat sheet on the front panel got us going, It adjusts the wire for us, we are impressed with it so far.

This is leaps and bounds better than my Cobra mig 260 from MK Products.

Looking forward to hearing more about your experience with it..

as well as what advantages on Aluminum it may have over a regular MillerMatic 350P...

My guys and I are building some heavy duty aluminum ramps for Asphalt Flow boy semi trailers so everything is in the range of 3/16" to 3/8" thick, we are running in the pulse mode.

I just watched the set up video and wow is it scary, lots of info to take in and we need to get welding.

Since we are currently running in pulse mode I set it to pulse and am using the chart on the front panel, so it tells you what wire speed to be at for material thickness and the voltage is automatically set.

When you want to weld thin just simply turn the dial on the gun down, if you need to weld thick you turn one dial on the gun up and it self calibrates.

      So far we love it.

I was reading a negative review on the u tube video comments and the guy says its to complicated to run and his guys cant figure it out and hes losing money.

However, When welding within the factory default settings it appears to be only one knob to adjust heat and wire at the gun, The first thing I tried it on was 1/8" aluminum and ran very nice.

Another thing to note is the absence of spatter.

The 350P-Alum is much simpler compared to the standard 350P. There is that idiot guide in the door under the display on the 350P-Alum which is pretty simple to me.

        What wire are you using?
        Nothing welded, Nothing gained

Shovelon, I was looking at you list of equipment, I just sold my cobra mig 260, how do you like yours.

We hated ours, it was okay for thick stuff only, it doesnt compare to our new 350 P aluminum.

We love ours. Was my daughter's favorite. Actually was magnificent on 1/8th sheet. Quite the opposite for us as we keep the 350P for the plate alum, and the pulse puts out a really clean bead.

But alas the cobramig stopped arcing a couple of months ago and I need to send it in for diagnostic.
