  • New Hobart 210MVP

I just replaced my Lincoln 140 with a Hobart 210MVP. The weld is best described as a long line of splattered boogers. There is popping and splatter everywhere. I checked the manual and my polarity for solid .030 steel is correct. Adjusting voltage and wire feed does not affect popping. Am I missing something simple? Next step is to take the unit back and exchange it for a Lincoln.

How is your ground connection? Do you have the right gas?
