I have read somewhere that the Multi 200 dosent allow for AC TIG. The Instruction in the book says DC as much as possibe. (or something to that effect) But clearly dosent say you can't or shoudnt.In my simple assesment of the situation it dosent seem that difficult to switch the leads. Im unclear if the gas is fed though the AC port. This might be the smoking gun. Anyone could clear this up for me that would be great. At this point Im sticking we TIg DC and the aluminum spool gunThanks

The leads themselves are only positive and negative. Switching the leads would only switch between DC+ and DC-. AC is totally different.Last edited by ja baudin; 03-17-2015, 03:28 PM.sigpic

Page 63 of the Multimatic 200 User's manual says "Whenever possible and practical, use DC weld output instead of AC weld output.".
However, that section is not specific to the MM 200. It is a general guide for selecting and preparing tungstens for DC or AC machines.
