Is Miller phasing out the 211 for a new model like they did from the 140 to 141?

  • Is Miller phasing out the 211 for a new model like they did from the 140 to 141?

Just checking to see if anyone has heard if Miller is replacing the 211 with a new model like they have done recently with others in the line such as 140 to the newly remodeled 141? I am asking because I would hate to grab a 211 and a new model pops up in a few weeks that has an improved drive motor, as I have heard they did with the 141 etc.

I haven't heard of anything. But what would they call it, the 211.5? There is already a 210 and 212, so those numbers are out.

I know, I was just thinking of that today. It just seems odd how the prices have been cut on them in most places I have seen and now Miller is offering one of their best rebate programs on that particular model. Not like a Miller rep would admit to it because the value of the 211 would drop and everyone would wait for the new and improved model anyway while machines just sat on shelves.

I've had this discussion with a few other people... Updating the 211 to an inverter would certainly be 'new' but i would argue - not so 'improved'. If you are thinking about buying a 211, I would so so BEFORE they change it.

Thanks for your suggestion Johnnyg340. The change I was thinking was more with the better drive motor as they changed in the other new models.... Unless of course the info I got is not true.. Which is always a possibility. Who knows, maybe they would go inverter and try to compete with the lincoln powermig 210 mp

Agreed on that. Will the new(if there is one) be any real improvement over the current model? The MM211 has a pretty good track record so far, with minimal problems. Will a new model be as trouble-free right out of the gate as the present model is now? That remains to be seen.

I don't know if there would be an improvement outside of drive motor or slight cabinet modification. My thought on competing with the lincoln 210 was in price only of course as one could buy the more expensive miller multi process now. I agree that it will be interesting to see what they come up with (or have already come up with and not released)
