I have a older miller big 40 diesel it has a continental engine in it.... Well it won't start the shut down solenoid isn't getting 12 volts I think I gave it 12 volts with a jumper wire but it still won't start... The welder sat for a really long time I drained the fuel out and put a filter on it and bled the lines and it still won't start. I'm stumped any advice would help thanks

Also that pump can have an internal or external solenoid...take a picture so i can see. The internal solenoids must be installed correctly or that engine will run away. External just screws in. Unscrew it remove the plunger and screw it back in. Will start but have no shutoff. Will have to lug or choke off to kill it.
