Hello I'm new into the engine drive welders and I have been looking into the bobcat line I have a budget of $4200 just wondering is there a huge difference between the 225 and the 250 is it worth the extra money to get the 250 I plan on using it for fabrication some structural and a lot of repairs on heavy equipment and input would be appreciated thanks in advance

A bobcat 225 is a little small on the heavy repair side. Fine for stick welding...however some bobcats struggle to run bigger wire or air arc. If i had a budget of 4200...i would save my money and buy a lincoln ranger 305g. I used to run tb302's and tb275....until i used a 305g. 305g is a better welder. As for the tb325s...to many issues, give them another year and i would consider one.

No he is talking about running a larger wire through a feeder that's hooked to the bobcat.
