  • Argon gas flow issues

Hello, New here and need some advice. I have started setting up my dad's old Silver Beauty 90100 to use again. I put a new regulator on it and inspected the hoses and all appears sound. She. I open the tank valve the gas is coming out of the overflow port on the bottom of the regulator. I am thinking the line must be clogged? Thoughts?

*** No clogged lines. Anyone familiar with the Electrovalves? I am thinking this is the only logical place that could be the problem. Thoughts?

    Thanks
    Brian

If gas is leaking out of the regulator it sounds like the regulator is defective.

Silver Beauty is a very old brand name. Seems to me it once belonged to Western Auto, who like Sears and Monkey Wards would put their brand names on outsourced products of various kinds. My dad had a little Silver Beauty battery charger from the early Fifties. Try googling Silver Beauty with quote-marks around it and you'll get some hits for welders.

It does sound like a bad gas regulator... or the WRONG style..
are you running pure CO2 or Mixed C02/Argon..?? the regulators are different...
And the CO2 only regulator requires a flat Teflon or Plastic washer or it will leak

BUT.. in any event... here is a link to download the owners manual..

I would download and print a copy for safe keeping...
          .
