  • DG is advertises WOLFRAM brand 2% Lanthinated tungsten but at 2x + the reg. price ??

    I would like to hear feedback from someone that has tried it before dropping $90 on an order of it and shipping when I am stocked well right now on std. 2% Lanth. from dg and others. They all seem the same so I am skeptical.

    If you are going to spend that amount, get the TriMix for alum, and get red from HTP/Usaweld for cheap to weld DC. Even DGP standard is import. Both of these are great for their intended purpose.

    2% lanthanated being a good dual purpose electrode is gotten cheaper elsewhere. But it you do try the Wolfram let us know if it is any better than chinese.
    Nothing welded, Nothing gained

      Approximately 80% of the tungsten supply in this world is Chinese.

        If it is better then I guess we can assume it came from the 20% that is not China. I will gladly pay the extra based solely on that and often do. I am not a great welder and someone with a good hand that welds everyday could do it more justice but I'll see if I think there is anything to it. Spending money is easy compared to getting a few 1000 hours under the hood in my hobby time, so I'll take every edge I can find that helps makes my welds look their best. I was just not gonna waste the premium dollars on it if I got some negative feedback. I'll order some tomorrow to see if I can see a difference.

            I doubt THAT much more $ for tungsten is going to result in a visible difference, your skill level means much more then a (questionable) higher quality stick of tungsten.

            Spending time under your hood will result in a MUCH greater return then more dollars leaving your wallet.

              [QUOTE=shovelon;327650]Point is Wolfram is German.[/QUOTE

              Buy Wolfram. Don't know if they are better. But, I have serious doubts about the quality of anything coming out of China. Slave labor doesn't produce the greatest product!
