New guy needs advice

Hey gentlemen , I am new to the forum and figured this was a good place to start. Have a handful of questions so hope you guys can help me out. First of I will by no means call myself a "welder" , more so a guy who welds. My dad taught me how when I was about 14 , made some "bird****" welds for a few months , became to what I thought was decent and then when I was about 16 and started driving , lost interest. I am currently in the Marine Corps for the last 6 years and will be leaving the service in about a year and a half. I have dabbled in welding lately and found how much I enjoy it again. I would like to try to set myself to hopefully find some type of work welding when I get out. I am looking into seeing if I can take night classes at a vo tach or somewhere like that to get cert'd. Any info would be awesome. Thanks guys

Semper Fi brother, I did just that. Got out, took a 15 monthish program here in the Tampa area and got my AWS cert and have been TIG welding process piping for about 4 years now. If you are willing to travel the money is excellent. Let me know if you have any specific questions. It really depends on where you go when you EAS.
