Millermatic 252, Junk?

The word "junk" and Millermatic 252 do not belong in the same sentence. I bought a new one about a year ago and it makes me smile every time I strike an arc with it. It's terrific!

Apparently someone has been into the medical canabis over your way if they think an MM252 is junk.

Mine makes terrible welds..........when I get distracted and forget to turn the gas on. I get interrupted constantly, I've trained myself to turn off gas whenever I finish a weld. Sometimes I forget I turned it off. Otherwise, it's a better welder than I am weldor.

It's kind of funny, you mention cannabis. We were at the mill one Sunday on a big project, twenty men ranging from 18 to 60, somebody asked if there was anyone there who never tried marijuana. The only one present who had not was the owner of the mill, and the welder. I myself tried it 40 years ago, and didn't like it.

Millermatic 252, Junk?

Miller makes the best welders. That's what miller is known for. And hypertherm only makes plasma cutters. So hypertherm is the only way to go

Millermatic 252, Junk?

Shows how those junk clamps that miller was putting on their machines for a while probably hurt millers rep more than they know. I wonder how many people gave up on their machines because of an issue like this?

Just my opinion after recent research...

As a Blue loyal person, I posted here similarly a week or so ago and after a few .. " you might want to research that a little more " .. type posts and it getting my attention I done an intense couple of days of reading and research on Plasma cutters and decided it was in my best interest to go with a Hypertherm !! and very glad I did. They just seem to have a better track record. If you buy Miller in order to try and get the best welders, then you might want to look at HT for a plasma... They are the Miller of plasma cutters in the comment of a lot of Miller loyal welders out there.

I have a Millermatic 252, I love. The mill has its beat up identical twin, they all hate it. I've been preaching for years it's a great machine! They all, especially those in the office tell me it's junk. They limp along with it. I learned there is an authorized Miller repair facility in the same town, the decision makers won't approve taking it. Howard and I each bring our own.

Last week Howard arrived with the plow truck, (no welder), they sprung an emergency payloader repair on him. Desperate, he looked over the 252 and found a loose, nearly burned off ground lead. Half hour later it's the best welder ever built!
