inert gas quick disconnects

Compressed air fittings can and do leak....but the guys that use those never soap and check for leaks, anyway--since they're not the one who has to buy the gas. I'd suspect that 10-25% of inert weld gas is leaked away in many shops.
Still periodically soap and check every connection.
I changed out both shop and portable gas hookups, had pigtails, etc. made up
for q-d inert fittings.
Having a small bottle for portable on-site, leak down while 50 miles away from shop, on a weekend costs more that going the fitting route, IMHO.

we have quick connects on the suitcases at our shop the problem with the quick connects is you need to have a female quick connect on the back of the box that way no dust gets in when the lines are disconnected if dust gets in plan on takin down the gas valve inside the box and cleaning it .sisne the owner doesn't want to go through the trouble about makin pig tails for our boxs i keep a role of electricao tape that way i can seal up the inlet on the back of my box while i'm moving to another location.
