Since Uncle Sam looks at any money left in the company check book as my money and not the companies money at the end of the year I mise well take it.

So we have to wait for the company to get some money, you cant buy a $ 7,000.00 welder when theres only $ 300.00 in the check book, We have to pick up pop cans right now to have gas money to get to the next job.
    I know... Bad Influence....

But you might talk to Chris Razor about it for future planning...

Well, I went ahead and ordered the 350 P- Aluminum without ever running one with the goose neck gun.

I have read about set up problems with this machine and hope it was from the guys that want to plug it in and go without taking a hour or so to learn about the machine.

My question is what wire do most of you use .035 or .047 which is 3/64" on your machine.

Ive always ran .035 with no trouble. Next time I pick up a spool of wire I'm going the try the 3/64. With the .035 I can see the wire spiral out of the tip into the puddle. Many say its because of the size and softness of the wire. The stiffer 3/64 shouldn't do the same.

            hmm

I own a 350p and like it so far what I'm wondering is does miller ever plan on any type of upgrade to make them capable of the pulse on pulse or dual pulse like the Lincoln 350mp

I'm sure you will like that new 3fidy P I have never used that machine but have used my brothers Lincoln 350 he also has a push pull gun for it and it is a very nice power source. My bet is you probably can't wrong with either machine. Enjoy your new blue toy

I have been using .047 wire in my 350P forever. It does not like 4043 or 4943 however as the 20ft plus liner clogs fast so I stopped using it in favor of 5356.

But the 350P-alum that I demoed fed 4943 like a champ. It was a shorter lead like 15ft, so I think that made a huge difference. It also has a slave drive in the cabinet that only assists the main pull motor in the gun so it is gentler on the wire. Since the 350P-alum slave drive cannot over power the pull motor it does not have to be synchronized (SUP value ) with each other. And roller tension is not tricky for soft wires like the standard 350P which can really deform the wire.

There is an idiot guide in a pop out shelf below the display panel in both the 350P and 350P-alum, and believe me the alum version is much simpler. Set it to the chart and off you go. Really simple. 5 minutes after power up should do it.

If I had it to do over again though I would go with the Linclone and the pulse on pulse, as alum mig is always spray, and high speed pulse just flares the arc, which is helpful for thin metals and large wire. High speed pulse is useless on 1/4" and thicker alum plate again as it is always in spray and the pulse mode just fades out in the process and lowers your overall voltage. That is where Pulse-on-Pulse would be helpful. High speed pulse for arc modification, and low speed pulse for bead cadence.

Just my 2 cents. I could be delusional.
