Hello everyone, I am new to this forum and have a question I hope someone can help me with. I have a Syncrowave 250 serial # JK618511 that a bought from a co-worker about 15 years ago. It stays in a dry heater basement and has been trouble free for me until yesterday. I had some aluminum to weld. It struck in ok , but the amps stayed low no matter the position of the pedal. All of a sudden it came on strong and melted the tungsten. Now it comes on full power as soon as I strike in. I tried DC and it's the same. I also tried using the panel switch and dialing the amps down to 10 and its the same. 100 % power all at once. From what I've read this is most likely a bad board. Can anyone offer their opinion on this ? Also, i am on the fence about replacing it my self because they are not returnable if it is not the problem. Should I just call in a technician ? Any help is appreciated.
