  • Advice on Dialarc 250

    Good morning,

I have the chance to purchase a Dialarc 250 machine circa 1998 for around $300.00. The machine has very low hours on it and is very clean.

However, it is not the HF series and I wanted to know opinions / thoughts on trying to convert this to use as a TIG system as well.

    Thank you

You would NEVER know the hours. If you can , maybe weld with the unit. As for Tig, maybe but there is no remote facilities, nor contactor control.

I had the pleasure (NOT) of using this machine (many years ago) for TIG, company thought they'd save some money on this unit instead of the Sycrowave. For precision welding it's no good, the control with the foot pedal was very sluggish, and the minimum start amperage blasted out like a 100 watt light bulb in the middle of the night. Then again if you're welding 1/4" plate it would be useable. JMO
