  • Clothes Line Repair

I have put in a new clothes line made from some drilling pipe and I have to do some more welding on it and I need some pointers. I have not welded in about 10 years, so I do not remember the amp or volt settings for doing some verticle welding with 1/8 or5/32 7018 ? Can anyone give me some help.

All depends on welder. They run so different. 1/8 7018 id set to 115 amp. Grab scrap metal run couple vert beads & dial in.
Note: a lot of drill pipe is alloy & heat treated steel. If any question be sure to pre heat to 500 deg. Area, weld let cool slow then should hv no problem.
