sorry the piece I was repairing was a 3"x4" piece of square stock welded on to a 1" thick 5"x5" square plate there is no bevel on the square stock it was just flat and sitting on the plate. I used a 6010 rod on the first pass for it's penetration and followed with a 7018 to finish.
