I was repairing a part for one of our machines . I was using a 6010 rod for my root pass for good penetration and a 7018 for the filler when the lead maintenance guy went off telling my plant manager that you never us two different types of rod when your welding because they are two different types of metal with different expansion rates and that you never ever do that. LOL. it was all I could do to not laugh in his face. But just telling my plant manager wont be enough I need some AWS code that show that these two rods are used together so she will understand just how full of BS this guy is. can anyone out there help me ? I tried to get it online but I don't want to buy the book.
