Question on welding cables and HF

Anything wrapped on a machine makes a transformer, therefore anything between those wraps becomes a magnet. Boards don't like that too much, especially if that wrap is in AC. I would'nt have thought a unused stinger wrapped would have done much, as there would be no continuity from one side to the other, unless the HF jumped across to frame.
