  • XR-Aluma Pro problems

I've got the XR-Aluma Pro gun on a Millermatic 350P Aluminum.

It's giving me problems by arcing inside the contact tip. It makes a funny noise and causes the wire to burn back at the tip. When I pull the tip off I can see burn marks on the wire about where the bottom of the tip screws into the gun. I'm running .035 4043 and using .040 contact tips for .035 wire.

Any solutions? Any advice on a better push-pull gun?

    Thanks.

Straight argon? Also post wfs, volts, wire alloy, and what you are welding. Sounds like your volts are too high, or wire speed too low. I know nothing about guns, but check your liner, and make sure both your drives are adjusted properly.

Wire is either slipping, something along the currect carrying conduit is loose, or your missing the goose neck liner.
