Syncrowave 200 need help

The setup that you show here looks fine for sheet metal as mentioned. You say that the Syncrowave 200 should be set to HF for start only. I've looked in my manual and also on the front panel of the machine and I can't figure out how to set HF for start only. There is a setting for Hot, Medium or Soft start in DC+, DC- or AC but that's all I can see. I know that the HF is on all of the time on AC because I can hear it. The machine welds beautifully in all modes. Maybe I'm missing something?

Some machines automatically switch HF to start only when set to DC TIG and to HF continuous for AC TIG... looks the the Sync 200 might be one of them... The Diversion 165/180... and the Lincoln Square Wave TIG 175 are others..
most other machines are switched manualy...

That is a fine machine for automotive sheetmetal...

TIG is the BEST answer for classic sheetmetal...

good place to start with settings for 18-19 Ga steel is

DCEN

Approx 35 amps (w foot pedal)

Properly Sharpened Tungsten (I like 2% lanthanated)

HF set for start only

Gas flow 15 cubic feet per hour 100% Argon

What problems are you having..??

Actually... that is not all that uncommon on machines bought for hobby purposes...

I have a syncrowave 200 I bought new 4 years ago it has 2 hr on it now. I am not a pro welder I work on old British cars for a hobby, I need help with the setting to tig weld 18 & 19 gauge sheet metal or did I just buy the wrong welder.
